This antique 10-inch Ernst Heubach bisque character baby doll, made in Köppelsdorf, Germany ca. 1910, is a quintessential example of the firm's craftsmanship. Incised on the neck with "Heubach 300 10/0 Köppelsdorf Germany," it features a painted porcelain socket head, expressive glass sleep eyes, and an open mouth with molded teeth. The doll has a blonde mohair wig, possibly replaced, and sits on a five-piece bent-limb composition baby body. Condition shows no cracks or hairlines to the bisque, but the composition limbs exhibit typical age wear: paint loss, touch-ups, and a notable chip to toes on one foot. The outfit’s belt is sewn on. This historic piece offers both nostalgia and collectability to doll enthusiasts. **Shipping Notice: Due to the delicate nature of the doll's sleep eye mechanism, any shipped doll will arrive with the wig and skull cap removed, and the eyes secured to help minimize the risk of damage during transit. Please expect this if you require shipping. Because of the additional time and care required to prepare the doll for safe shipment, an additional handling fee may apply. These dolls are exceptionally fragile, and while we take the greatest care in packing and securing every item, shipping always carries an inherent risk. By requesting shipping, you acknowledge and accept the possibility of damage that may occur during transit.
