This is a fabulous 33-inch German bisque socket head child doll, the result of the historic Heinrich Handwerck and Simon & Halbig collaboration. The bisque head is marked "Heinrich Handwerck Simon & Halbig 7," referencing the partnership and mold number. Features include a beautifully painted swivel bisque head, blue glass sleep eyes with detailed lashes, painted multi-stroke eyebrows, pierced ears with drop earrings, and an open mouth with four porcelain teeth. The composition ball-jointed body is fully articulated and shows age-related wear, including surface cracking at joints and paint loss. The Victorian-style cherry-red wool jacket with black trim, lace-frilled collar, and ornamental buttons complements the attached heavy pleated black skirt, both in well-preserved condition but may not be original to the doll. The body, hands, and legs exhibit typical wear, with visible paint chips, minor cracks, and some joint discoloration.
