Antique German bisque-head boy character doll manufactured by Armand Marseille, Koppelsdorf, Thuringia, during the early 1900s–1920s. Mold number 1113 is marked on the back of the head, featuring a fine bisque socket head, painted facial features, molded multi-stroked eyebrows, and brown inset glass eyes. The five-piece composition and wood body is fully jointed at the shoulders, hips, and knees. The doll wears what appears to be its original country boy clothing, displaying significant age wear and moth-bitten holes. Included are a straw hat and black leather lace-up shoes, both of which are later additions and not original to the factory release. Condition: notable paint wear, age cracks, and chipping evident on the limbs and torso. 13.5 inches in length. **Shipping Notice: Due to the delicate nature of the doll's sleep eye mechanism, any shipped doll will arrive with the wig and skull cap removed, and the eyes secured to help minimize the risk of damage during transit.
