This collection of traditional utility tools comprises two large wooden hay rakes, a four-tine metal pitchfork, and two straw brooms. The wooden hay rakes feature wide horizontal crossbars fitted with multiple carved wooden tines, reinforced by curved metal support stays that connect the head to the long wooden handle. The pitchfork consists of four curved metal tines mounted on a long wooden shaft with a metal ferrule. The two brooms are constructed with natural straw or fibre heads, bound securely to wooden handles with thick twine. One broom handle retains a partial blue and white adhesive label. The handles across the collection show natural wood grain and varying degrees of weathering. Height of largest rake approx. 75 inches (measured against a ruler). Condition: The items are in a used, rustic condition. The wooden handles exhibit weathering and minor surface abrasions consistent with outdoor utility. The metal components, including the pitchfork tines and rake support rods, show surface oxidation and a dark patina. The straw heads of the brooms show typical wear from use, with one broom retaining a protective plastic wrap over the twine binding.
