Two vintage wooden sleds of contrasting design. The first is a primitive-style sled featuring a wooden frame finished in red paint, with a seat composed of three planks; the central plank is tapered at the front. It is constructed with wooden side rails and runners reinforced with metal strips, with curved metal cross-braces secured to the underside. The second item is a traditional Davos-style wooden sled with a natural weathered finish. The seat is formed of three longitudinal slats supported by transverse members, set upon curved wooden runners with metal facing. A natural fibre rope pull handle is attached to the front cross-bar. Approximate height (measured against a tape measure, only inches shown): 94 cm (red sled); 79 cm (natural wood sled). Condition: The red painted sled shows significant signs of age and outdoor use, with extensive paint loss, flaking, and chipping across the wooden surfaces. The metal runners and fasteners show surface oxidation and rust. The natural wood sled exhibits weathering and a heavy aged patina, and the metal strips on the runners are rusted. General surface wear and signs of previous use are evident throughout the lot.
