AVAILABLE FOR SHIPPING or LOCAL PICKUP > A matched set of -4- vintage oven-to-table sizzling steak platters, each consisting of a heavy oval aluminum serving plate fitted into a black composite insulated holder. Each aluminum plate measures 11.5" x 7.75", while the black receiver measures 13.75" x 8.5" overall and stands 1" deep. Each complete matched platter and holder weighs an impressive 2-1/2 lbs, giving the set a substantial restaurant-quality feel. These were designed for classic oven-to-table steak service. The aluminum platter was heated with the steak, chop, burger, or other meat, then transferred into the black insulated holder for safe handling and tabletop presentation. The holder functioned as a protective receiver and trivet rather than a hot-water reservoir, allowing the sizzling hot aluminum plate to be carried and served without damaging the table surface. This style of steak platter was especially popular in the mid-20th century, particularly during the 1950s through 1970s, and was widely used in restaurants, steakhouses, supper clubs, and home entertaining. No manufacturer marks are present. CONDITION REPORT > Overall, well preserved examples, remaining quite useful today.
