AVAILABLE FOR SHIPPING or LOCAL PICKUP > Substantial collection of decorative tea towels, guest towels and hand towels accompanied by a square linen card-table cover, presently folded across the bottom of the photograph. The collection spans several periods, combining earlier handworked and lace-trimmed linens with newer printed, embroidered and seasonal examples. The earlier textiles include white, ivory and pale pink linens embellished with colored floral embroidery, whitework, openwork lace, crocheted borders, scalloped hems and other traditional needlework. Designs include blue roses, pink blossoms, a rabbit, ornamental floral medallions and a large figural motif framed by an elaborate lace border. The square linen card-table cover is simply and elegantly finished with a neatly worked perimeter hem. Holiday and seasonal towels include a wreath surrounding JOY, an embroidered wreath against a deep burgundy ground, a decorated Christmas tree accented with small dimensional ornaments, a hanging ornament motif and other festive designs. Additional towels feature colorful flowers arranged in decorative containers, a champagne flute tied with a green bow and floral imagery in a blue-and-white jardiniere. Three newer conversational guest towels read WELL-BEHAVED WOMEN RARELY MAKE HISTORY; FRIENDS ARE FLOWERS THAT NEVER FADE; and THE NICE PART ABOUT LIVING IN A SMALL TOWN IS THAT WHEN I DON’T KNOW WHAT I’M DOING, SOMEONE ELSE SURELY DOES. Altogether, the lot offers a broad assortment of useful and decorative household textiles suitable for display, entertaining, seasonal decorating, repurposing or continued use. CONDITION REPORT > The majority are well preserved, with some exhibiting typical and minor elements relative to age and materials.
