6 VINTAGE APRONS ~ WILLIAMS-SONOMA ~ HANDMADE AVAILABLE FOR SHIPPING or LOCAL PICKUP > Collection of six vintage full-length and bib-style aprons ranging from finely worked white linen examples to decorative printed kitchen and hostess aprons. The group incorporates hand embroidery, lacework, gathered skirts, pockets, ruffled borders and novelty embellishments, with examples representing both traditional home sewing and named specialty retailers. 1 > Colorful floral apron, believed to be the oldest example in the collection, fashioned from cream-colored fabric densely printed with burgundy and rose blossoms, green leaves and trailing vines. Designed with a fitted bib, gathered waist, two rounded front pockets, pink piping and a broad flounced lower border. Long neck and waist ties are made from matching floral fabric. 2 > White Paper White apron bearing a label reading PAPER WHITE – EMBROIDERY AND LACE MADE ENTIRELY BY HAND – 100% PURE LINEN – c 1982. This finely worked example features a fitted bib, gathered skirt, floral embroidery, openwork lace panels and a scalloped embroidered hem. Completed with long white neck and waist ties. 3 > White Mary Amanda apron featuring a gathered full skirt, front pocket and decorative band of embroidered Christmas trees across the bib. The long ties incorporate red and green cords terminating in small jingle bells. A small label reading MARY AMANDA likely identifies the individual maker. 4 > Williams-Sonoma full bib apron decorated with an elaborate maroon pastoral toile print against a cream-colored ground. The richly detailed Old World scenes incorporate a rooster, birds, a young man and dog fishing, cherubs or putti, wolves, rabbits, maids and maidens amid scrolling foliage and ornamental cartouches. Finished with matching neck and waist ties and prominently labeled WILLIAMS-SONOMA across the bib. 5 > White handmade apron with a fitted upper panel, gathered skirt and long waist ties. Decorative features include lace edging across the upper border, openwork lace surrounding the lower hem and a central folded-fabric ornament accented with a lace medallion. 6 > White sleeveless bib apron with rounded lower corners, contrasting piping and two curved front pockets. Decorated with dark green grapevine designs extending across the body and pockets, including clusters of grapes, leaves and curling tendrils. Together, the collection presents an engaging variety of domestic textile traditions, from practical kitchen wear and festive holiday attire to elaborate hostess aprons intended as much for presentation as household use. CONDITION REPORT > Some appear never used, with others perhaps exhibiting elements relative to age, use and materials ~ Overall, a nicely preserved group.
