VAILABLE FOR SHIPPING or LOCAL PICKUP > A vintage boxed BRIO Figure 8 Viaduct Railway Set by the noted Swedish toy manufacturer, retaining the original illustrated cardboard box, fitted green plastic storage tray, wooden track components, elevated bridge sections and four rolling train pieces. Included are a black locomotive with red wheels and three colorful tipping cars in yellow, red and green, all using BRIO’s magnetic coupling system. The wooden track assortment includes multiple curved sections, straight sections and the elevated viaduct components needed to create the figure-eight layout shown on the original box, with the train traveling over the raised bridge while another section of track passes beneath. The original fitted green tray is especially desirable, with molded compartments for the track, bridge components and rolling stock, preserving the set’s original boxed presentation. This set is specifically identified as BRIO’s Figure 8 Viaduct Railway Set, originally marketed under product number 3125. BRIO documentation shows the 3125 Figure-8 or Viaduct Set by 1983. When BRIO changed to five-digit product numbers in 1984, the set was renumbered 33125. The model is documented in BRIO’s 1985 catalog as No. 33125, with an engine, three tipping trucks, curved track, straight track and viaduct components. The set remained in production for years and continued to appear in BRIO material into the 1990s. Founded in Sweden, BRIO became internationally recognized for durable wooden toys emphasizing simple forms, bright primary colors, natural wood and modular construction. This train set strongly reflects that Scandinavian modern design tradition, with clean uncomplicated forms and interchangeable wooden components rather than the more mechanically detailed styling typical of many American toy trains of the period. The box graphics, rolling stock styling and fitted tray place this example most comfortably within the 1980s era of production, while the model itself originated by 1983 and continued well beyond that date. CONDITION REPORT > As discovered ~ Contents have not been assembled to verify absolute completeness against the original factory inventory ~ Box suffers somewhat from storage ~ Contents appear to be notably well preserved.
