DEB LYNNE BLUE DRIP GLAZE STUDIO POTTERY PLANTER

AVAILABLE FOR SHIPPING or LOCAL PICKUP > A signed studio pottery planter by Deb Lynne, standing 4" tall and measuring 5.5" in diameter across the scalloped ruffled flange rim. The vessel is wheel formed with a rounded cylindrical body and broad undulating rim, finished in a deep blue glaze over a lighter stoneware body. The interior is especially decorative, with bold drip glaze lines radiating downward from the rim toward the center. A single drain hole is incorporated through the base for use as a small planter. The underside is hand signed DEB LYNNE, with additional incised decorative markings surrounding the central drain opening. Deb Lynne was a Tennessee studio potter associated with the Knoxville area, where her work was reportedly offered through local shops. Later in life she suffered significant vision problems, making surviving signed examples particularly interesting as part of a regional studio pottery tradition. The strongly ruffled rim, contrasting glaze application and compact functional planter form give this example considerable handmade character.
