Exact publisher and edition not established from the exterior alone. 3 > THE ALHAMBRA ~ WASHINGTON IRVING ~ ALDINE EDITION ~ LOVELL ~ Decorative edition of Irving’s classic collection of tales and sketches inspired by the Alhambra palace in Granada, Spain, with ornate gilt and black spine decoration. 4 > MRS. The group presents a visually interesting collection of Victorian and turn-of-the-century decorative bindings, including embossed cloth, gilt titles, ornamental spines and literary works by several notable 19th-century authors. Conditions vary considerably, with rubbing, staining, cloth loss, fraying, weakened or worn spines and other age-related deterioration evident throughout.
