AVAILABLE FOR SHIPPING or LOCAL PICKUP > A group of 2 vintage mid-century hammered aluminum serving trays, including one highly decorative Rodney Kent Hand Wrought Creations No. 406 example and one Wrought Farberware Brooklyn, New York tray. 1 > RODNEY KENT HAND WROUGHT CREATIONS NO. 406 ~ A substantial oval hammered aluminum tray standing a notable 3.5" tall to the raised handles, with the body measuring 12" x 8" to the scalloped border. The center is worked in raised relief with a large tulip arrangement tied by a flowing bow, while the perimeter carries a pronounced hand-hammered texture. The elevated open handles at each end are especially decorative, formed as curving floral boughs with blossoms and leaves. Underside is engraved HAND WROUGHT CREATIONS ~ RODNEY KENT ~ 406. Online examples specifically identify No. 406 as a Rodney Kent tulip tray, and comparable handled examples are routinely dated to the 1940s–1950s Mid-Century period. Rodney Kent became one of the better-known names in American hand-wrought aluminum giftware, producing decorative trays, bowls and serving pieces characterized by hammered surfaces and applied floral motifs. 2 > WROUGHT FARBERWARE BROOKLYN NY ~ A smaller elongated hammered aluminum tray standing about 1" tall and measuring 10.25" x 5.75" overall, with broad tab handles at each end finished in a beaded or gadroon-style border. The underside carries the distinctive anvil trademark above WROUGHT FARBERWARE ~ BKLYN N.Y. Farberware produced a broad line of wrought aluminum serving and decorative ware during the mid-20th century, with surviving examples commonly identified as 1940s–1950s production. Together, the two trays represent the popular American hand-wrought aluminum decorative ware of the mid-20th century, when hammered metal serving pieces were widely produced as both functional tableware and decorative giftware.
