AVAILABLE FOR SHIPPING or LOCAL PICKUP > A substantial Imperial Glass clear pressed-glass serving bowl standing 2.25" tall to the tallest point of the scalloped border, measuring 6.5" in diameter and weighing 1.25 lbs. The bowl is produced in Imperial’s Whirling Star pattern, Line #500, an elaborate geometric design combining large whirling pinwheel motifs, hobstar medallions, diamond-point fields and deeply cut-looking geometric elements. The heavily patterned surface creates strong light refraction across the clear glass, while the high scalloped border gives the relatively shallow form a pronounced decorative profile. Center of the underside carries the stylized IG Imperial Glass mark, confirming production by the Imperial Glass Corporation of Bellaire, Ohio. Imperial became one of the major American producers of pressed and decorative glass during the 20th century, with Whirling Star among the company’s more complex geometric patterns. The 6.5" size makes this an especially useful small serving or decorative bowl for candy, nuts, condiments or tabletop display, while the dense patterning gives the piece the visual character of cut crystal despite being pressed glass. CONDITION REPORT > A notably well preserved example.
