Andrew Bone (Zimbabwean, b. 1957), Hyena Head, Original Pencil Drawing, 2013. Original pencil drawing on paper depicting a finely rendered portrait of an African hyena, executed with Bone's characteristic attention to wildlife anatomy and expression. Hand-signed in pencil lower right by the artist. Accompanied by the original Park West Gallery Certificate of Authenticity, identifying the work as Hyena Head, dated 2013, and confirming it as a unique work. Also accompanied by the original Park West Gallery appraisal dated June 20, 2014, listing a retail replacement value of $2,700, together with Park West correspondence. Andrew Bone was born in Harare, Zimbabwe, in 1957 and is an artist and wildlife conservationist particularly recognized for his realistic depictions of African animals. His work is informed by firsthand observation and photography during extensive travel throughout southern Africa. Bone later established the Forever Wild Foundation in support of African wildlife conservation projects. The secondary market for Bone is established, with more than 100 auction appearances recorded; his works on paper have achieved prices as high as approximately $2,000, although values vary substantially according to medium, size and subject.
