Whimsical limited-edition bronze sculpture titled Roxy by Colombian-born contemporary sculptor Nano Lopez (b. 1955). Dimensions: Approximately 3 H x 8 W x 6.5 D inches. Depicting a recumbent fox with large expressive blue eyes and upright ears, the sculpture is characteristic of Lopez's celebrated Nanimals series, in which realistically modeled animals are transformed through richly textured surfaces incorporating letters, numerals, geometric devices, natural forms, and seemingly mechanical and found-object elements. Numbered 120/420, from the documented edition of 420. The artist's published specifications for Roxy are approximately 3 x 8 x 6.5 inches, corresponding with this sculpture. The edition is documented by the artist as sold out. It initially sold for $4,000. Lopez art is highly collectible and appreciable. The patinated bronze displays an exceptionally elaborate hand-applied polychrome patina in warm russet, bronze, amber, green, turquoise, red, cream, and black tones. The name ROXY is incorporated into the body of the fox, while an R medallion appears prominently on the forehead. Numerous additional numbers, letters, buttons, botanical motifs, textured passages, and symbolic elements are integrated throughout the composition. The edition is documented by the artist as sold out. Excellent overall condition. Rich and vibrant multicolored patina with the extensive modeled, incised, and applied surface decoration presenting well. Very minor scattered surface rubbing and handling wear commensurate with age and display. No significant cracks, losses, repairs, or structural damage observed from inspection..
