Vintage Ceramic Corinthian-Form Pedestal. Dimensions: 28.5 H x 13 W x 13 D in. A decorative vintage ceramic pedestal in the Corinthian taste, featuring a fluted shaft surmounted by a richly modeled capital adorned with acanthus leaves and scrolling volutes. The square base supports a molded column rising to a shaped top, offering a functional and visually striking platform for the display of sculpture or decorative objects. The surface is finished in a painted white tone with darker undertones accentuating the carved detail, imparting a timeworn, architectural character. Condition: In good vintage condition with visible wear consistent with age and decorative use. The painted surface shows areas of intentional and natural distressing, including scattered flaking and losses—most notably across the top surface and along edges. There are minor chips and abrasions to the base and high points of the capital, along with surface spotting, discoloration, and light grime accumulation in recessed areas. The finish exhibits uneven wear, enhancing the aged appearance. No major structural cracks observed; the pedestal remains stable and suitable for display. Please review all images for a complete assessment of condition. Provenance: From the estate of a long-time Atlanta attorney who assembled a collection of antiques and fine art over several decades.
