Natural Stone & Hand-Forged Iron Demilune Console Table. Dimensions: 23.5H x 24.5 W x 12.5 D inches. A striking Western rustic demilune console table, likely acquired in Jackson Hole, Wyoming, featuring a substantial natural stone slab top supported by a sculptural hand-forged iron base. The combination of rugged natural materials and artisan metalwork gives the piece the sophisticated lodge character associated with fine furnishings of the American Mountain West. The thick semicircular stone top displays attractive soft rose, blush and earth tones with natural mineral veining and a deliberately rough-hewn, irregular outer edge that preserves the character of the stone. Its substantial thickness and organic surface provide a handsome counterpoint to the comparatively open iron framework below. The darkened iron base is particularly attractive, constructed with slender architectural supports surrounding a curved demilune stretcher. Two prominent vertical elements have been individually twisted and manipulated into an undulating openwork pattern, providing movement and an unmistakably handcrafted quality. The restrained design allows the natural stone to remain the focal point while giving the table considerable sculptural presence. An impressive accent for an entry hall, great room or lodge interior, and particularly well suited to Western, rustic, organic-modern or mountain-lodge décor. Provenance: From the estate of Moira McCracken, an international equine sales executive based in Georgia and lifelong equestrian with a deep passion for horses and animals. At the time of her passing, she owned four horses and six dogs. McCracken assembled a home filled with beautiful art and distinctive furnishings. She was the widow of John McCracken, who established IBM in Edinburgh, Scotland. This table was likely acquired in Jackson Hole, Wyoming. Condition: Very good overall condition. The substantial natural stone top exhibits inherent mineral variation, surface texture and intentionally irregular rough-hewn edges characteristic of the material and design. Minor surface and edge wear consistent with age and use. Hand-forged iron base is sturdy and structurally sound with light surface wear and natural patination. Presents exceptionally well.
