Genuine Stickley Solid Cherry Two-Drawer Media Console / Cabinet. Dimensions: 29 in. H x 29 in. W x 17 in. D. A handsome and exceptionally well-crafted Stickley solid cherry media console or cabinet, made in Manlius, New York, combining the company's Arts & Crafts heritage with a clean, understated contemporary form. Constructed of richly figured solid cherry, the cabinet features a broad rectangular top above a generous open component shelf and two full-width drawers fitted with traditional turned wooden pulls. The quality of construction is evident throughout. The drawers feature dovetail joinery, solid wood construction and smooth metal slides, while the case displays carefully selected cherry with attractive natural grain and color variation. Paneled solid-wood sides, a subtly arched lower apron and restrained proportions give the cabinet the handcrafted character associated with Stickley furniture. The interior bears both the Stickley branded mark and brass Stickley Handcraft Craftsman medallion, Manlius, N.Y., USA, confirming manufacture. Originally particularly well suited as a compact media cabinet, its proportions also make it useful as an end cabinet, bedside cabinet, small sideboard or storage console. Stickley's solid cherry case pieces of this quality were premium American-made furniture when new and remain desirable on the secondary market. Provenance: From the estate of Moira McCracken, an international equine sales executive based in Georgia and lifelong equestrian with a deep passion for horses and animals. At the time of her passing, she owned four horses and six dogs. McCracken assembled a home filled with beautiful art and distinctive furnishings. She was the widow of John McCracken, who established IBM in Edinburgh, Scotland. Condition: Very good overall condition. Solid, sturdy and well maintained, with light surface scratches, minor finish marks and small signs of use, particularly to the top, consistent with age and normal household use.
