A collection of six late 19th and early 20th-century studio portrait photographs, primarily comprising cabinet cards mounted on heavy cardstock. The lot includes albumen and toned gelatin silver prints. The subjects include a seated infant in a lace gown, two women in period dress with high collars and lace details, two gentlemen in formal suits, and a group portrait of ten men. Several mounts feature printed studio credits for Glasgow and surrounding regions: two cards by R. Shankland of 5 St. Vincent Place, Glasgow and Queen Street, Rutherglen; one by Kyle & Cameron of Anderston Cross, Glasgow and Russell Street, Wishaw; one by A. Dunbar & Co of 25 Jamaica Street, Glasgow and 99 South Bridge, Edinburgh; and one by Weir's Studio of 351 Byres Road, Glasgow. One photograph is an unmounted, irregularly torn group portrait. Cabinet cards (individual): approx. W 10 cm x H 16.5 cm Group portrait (irregular): approx. W 11.5 cm x H 13 cm (Measured from visible tape measure). Condition: The collection exhibits age-related wear including surface abrasions, minor foxing, and fading, particularly to the albumen prints. The mounts show edge fraying and corner wear. The group portrait is heavily torn with significant structural loss to the periphery and has been removed from its original mount. One card has a prominent diagonal crease. Versos show scattered staining and minor adhesive remnants.
