A collection of four illustrated display cards containing commemorative medallions issued as promotional premiums by Shell gasoline dealers in CA, circa 1970. The group includes one Coats of Arms of Canada set, one Floral Emblems of Canada set, and two The Prime Ministers of Canada 1867-1970 sets. The medallions are struck in base metal. The provincial coats of arms and floral emblem series feature a brass-toned finish, while the Prime Minister series medallions are predominantly silver-toned with select gold-toned examples. The Prime Minister obverse features portrait medallions of leaders from Sir John A. Macdonald to Pierre E. Trudeau with names and terms of office. The Coats of Arms series displays provincial heraldic shields with bilingual inscriptions and dates, and the Floral Emblems series depicts provincial flowers. The lot also includes a printed yellow paper flyer advertising a walnut mounting plaque. Dimensions: W approx. 21.5 cm (measured from visible tape measure). Condition: The medallions are in circulated commemorative condition, exhibiting heavy toning, surface oxidation, and light wear. The cardboard display cards show moderate edge wear, corner bumping, surface staining, and handwritten ink notations including a name written on the upper margin of one card.
