An assortment of mid-20th-century domestic linens including tablecloths, napkins, and hand towels. A featured item is a square cream-coloured tablecloth with woven geometric borders in black and grey, retaining a paper manufacturer's label in the shape of a maple leaf marked Pure Linen Cotton Decoration, Style Venus, and MADE IN CZECHOSLOVAKIA. The lot also contains a printed cloth with pink carnation motifs on a blue and white ground, along with various pieces featuring hand-embroidered floral designs, including purple thistles and a bouquet tied with a ribbon above a pink border. The collection is completed by a selection of white linens with decorative lace inserts, drawn-thread work, and scalloped borders, plus a group of fringed terrycloth towels with multi-coloured horizontal stripes in green, yellow, and red. One item bears a piece of green adhesive tape with the handwritten note ass't linens. Dimensions (Venus tablecloth, from label): 52 inches x 52 inches Approx. folded width (floral cloth, measured against tape): 16.5 cm Approx. folded width (Venus cloth, measured against tape): 18 cm. Condition: The textiles are in generally good vintage condition. Several items remain in original folds, suggesting minimal use. There is evidence of light age-related yellowing and occasional small foxing spots consistent with long-term storage. The fringed towels show minor wear to the edges.
