This collection of mid-20th-century household textiles comprises several tea towels, six white napkins, and a novelty apron. The pieces are constructed from cotton and linen. Featured items include a cream-coloured cotton novelty apron decorated with a 1940s/50s style print of dancing and socialising figures in shades of purple, blue, and yellow. Souvenir textiles include a linen tea towel featuring a detailed map of Northern Ireland with the Red Hand of Ulster coat of arms and Union Jacks, and a Swedish linen towel dedicated to the provinces of Bohuslän and Södermanland, illustrated with provincial flowers and text reading Skogsstjärna, Gullvivalla, Fjällsippa, and Linne. Additional graphic tea towels include a white towel with a streamlined green and white locomotive numbered 4032, signed Lake, a towel with mid-century kitchen motifs such as rolling pins and clocks, and a yellow and orange checkered towel with apple baskets and floral borders. The lot is completed by six plain white napkins in a damask or heavy cotton weave. Dimensions (measured against a ruler): Folded width of kitchen motif towel: approx. 38 cm Folded width of Swedish towel: approx. 23.5 cm Folded width of Northern Ireland towel: approx. 15.5 cm. Condition: The collection shows signs of age and previous domestic use consistent with vintage textiles. The novelty apron exhibits notable brown spotting and foxing. Other items show minor marks, general wear, and light creasing from storage.
