A pair of vintage silver gelatin stereoview cards published by B. W. Kilburn of Littleton, New Hampshire, documenting the 1901 Pan-American Exposition in Buffalo, New York. The first card, numbered 14506, is titled The Triumphal Bridge and Lake by night, and showcases the exposition architecture illuminated by electric lights. The second card, numbered 14652, is titled Looking for bugs, Pan American Exposition, featuring a genre scene of four children in turn-of-the-century dress within a formal garden. Both prints are mounted on curved, buff-toned cardstock. The left margins are printed with the name JAMES M. DAVIS followed by a list of cities including New York, St. Louis, Liverpool, Toronto, and Sydney. The right margins bear copyright information for B. W. Kilburn dated 1901 and 1902. The reverse of the mounts is stamped Photographed and Published by B. W. KILBURN, = Littleton, N. H. Dimensions (measured against a ruler): W approx. 17.8 cm. Condition: The silver gelatin prints exhibit silver mirroring, particularly visible in the dense shadows of the nocturnal scene. The buff cardstock mounts show scattered foxing, light surface soiling, and minor wear to the edges and corners. The images show light overall fading.
