This lot consists of two vintage stereoview cards produced by the firm Underwood & Underwood. The first card is titled Cathedral Glen, Watkins Glen N.Y. and features a scenic view of a rocky gorge with a wooden viewing platform. The second card is titled Brooklyn Bridge and depicts the bridge span with several multi-masted sailing vessels in the harbor foreground. Both items are photomechanical halftone prints mounted on light tan cardstock with rounded corners. The cards are inscribed in printed script with Sold only by Underwood & Underwood and include the secondary location text Baltimore, Md. - Ottawa, Kas. These cards were designed for use with a stereoscope to create the illusion of three-dimensional depth. Dimensions: approx. W 17.8 cm x H 8.9 cm. Condition: Both cards show characteristic sepia toning and scattered foxing throughout the image and mount areas. There is minor wear to the edges and corners consistent with age and handling.
