This lot features two vintage stereoview cards, likely albumen or early silver gelatin prints, mounted on curved sepia-toned cardstock. The first card depicts a landscape scene titled Robert Burns' Monument, Ayr, Scotland, and includes a Spanish subtitle, Monumento á Burns, en Ayr, Escocia. The left margin identifies the publisher as J.F. Jarvis, Washington, D.C., while the right margin indicates it was sold exclusively by Underwood and Underwood with listed offices in Liverpool, New York, Chicago, Toronto, Ottawa, Kansas, and El Paso, Texas. The second card is a domestic interior scene titled This Little Pig Went to Market, showing a child seated in an ornate armchair. This card is marked with an 1890 copyright by Strohmeyer and Wyman on the lower-left margin and identifies the distributor as Underwood and Underwood with offices in Baltimore, Maryland, and Ottawa, Kansas. Both cards are examples of the mass-produced photographic entertainment popular during the late Victorian era. Dimensions measured against a ruler: approx. 17.8 cm x 8.9 cm. Condition: Both cards show signs of age-related wear, including rounded corners and minor edge abrasions. Scattered foxing and minor surface staining are present on the cardstock mounts. The landscape view exhibits significant fading, particularly in the upper portions of the image. The domestic scene maintains better photographic contrast, although there is minor staining on the child's dress and the chair's upholstery.
