A pair of antique stereographic cards published by B. W. Kilburn of Littleton, New Hampshire. The first card, numbered 13764 and copyrighted 1900, is titled "Lord Robert's Remounts crossing the Pontoon Bridge at Norvals Pont, South Africa," depicting a military scene from the Second Boer War. The second card, numbered 14609 and copyrighted 1902, is titled "The Base of the Great Electric Tower by night, Pan American Exposition," capturing a night view of the landmark architecture from the 1901 world's fair in Buffalo, New York. Both cards were distributed by James M. Davis and bear his imprint listing offices in New York, St. Louis, Liverpool, Toronto, and Sydney. The reverse of one card includes the publisher's full imprint. The cards consist of dual albumen photographic prints mounted on curved buff-colored cardstock. Width: 17.8 cm (measured from visible ruler). Condition: Good antique condition with light foxing and minor surface soiling consistent with age. There is moderate wear to the corners and edges of the cardstock mounts. The photographic images remain clear with good tonal contrast.
