This pair of vintage professional ice hockey skates features Tackaberry boots mounted on Prolite blades, manufactured by Canada Cycle and Motor Co. Ltd. (CCM). The boots are crafted from dark brown leather with reinforced toe caps, felt-lined tongues, and white cotton laces. The exterior heel of each boot is adorned with gold-toned script reading Tacks by C.C.M. The leather soles are stamped with C C M, Tackaberry Prolite, REG. D, MADE IN CANADA, and UT 8. The interior linings are stamped with U I 7964 and C 8. The metal blade chassis are stamped with THE C.C.M., PROLITE, PATENTED 1961, and MADE IN CANADA, with base plates marked 10 2/3. The set includes the original cardboard retail box, featuring mid-century graphics and text including Tacks by C.C.M., PRO OK'd, and THE WORLD'S FINEST. Dimensions (measured against a ruler): Height approx. 28 cm; Length approx. 28.5 cm. Condition: The skates are in well-preserved vintage condition. The leather boots show characteristic scuffing, particularly at the toes, and creasing consistent with age and previous use. The metal blades and chassis exhibit minor surface oxidation in localized areas. The original box is largely intact with good color retention, showing typical wear at the corners and edges along with age-related toning.
