Vintage Handlan St. Louis four-way railroad switch lamp featuring a heavy metal body with red and blue bullseye signal lenses. These lamps were mounted at railroad switches to indicate the direction in which the track was aligned. The blue lenses produced a green signal when illuminated by the yellow flame of the original kerosene burner. Measures approximately 14 inches tall with a 4.5-inch-diameter base. Mid-20th century, likely circa 1930s-1950s. No railroad ownership initials are visible, so it cannot be attributed to a particular railroad. The body appears to have been repainted black and displays surface wear, oxidation and age-related patina. The top opens as shown. The original kerosene burner and fuel fount are not present.
