Antique Adlake Non-Sweating four-way railroad switch signal lamp manufactured by the Adams & Westlake Company of Chicago. Features a black-painted metal body, tall carrying handle, round mounting base and red and blue bullseye glass lenses. These colored lenses indicated the position of a railroad track switch. The blue glass produced a green signal when illuminated by the yellow flame of a kerosene burner. The top is embossed "THE NON-SWEATING ADLAKE LAMP CHICAGO," with patent information embossed on the body. Measures approximately 20 inches tall to the top of the handle. Early 20th century, approximately 1910s–1930s. The interior oil font, burner and chimney are not present. Displays oxidation, paint loss, scratches and wear appropriate for authentic railroad use and age. If you have any doubt, please attend the preview and examine all photographs closely before bidding.
