Avon 1995 Honor Society Albee Teacup Set

Avon Honor Society 1995 Mrs. P.F.E. Albee commemorative teacup and saucer in cobalt blue and gold, complete in the original box. Saucer and footed cup carry a deep cobalt band with gold scroll and floral tracery, oval reserves of hand-colored flowers, a portrait medallion of Mrs. Albee and wide gold borders; the cup has a fully gilded handle and a second portrait medallion inside the bowl. The saucer back reads Created Exclusively for the Avon Honor Society, copyright Avon 1995, All Rights Reserved, with the printed caution Not For Food Use, May Poison Food, For Decorative Purposes Only. The box is marked Made in Japan, FSC 27875-1, copyright Avon 1995. Included are the round mahogany-finish wooden display base with a brass band reading 1995 Honor Society, a sealed bag of hardware, and the original box and foam. The ruler shows the saucer at about 5.75 inches across. Condition is excellent and unused, no chips or cracks visible, light shelf wear to the box. That food warning is normal on heavily gilded commemorative china of this period and simply means display use only. Sold as-is. Photos are the most accurate description of this lot.
