Avon Second Anniversary commemorative award plate, The Avon Doorknocker, in fine porcelain with hand-applied 24k gold. The center carries the Avon doorknocker motif framed by pink roses, and the printed back gives the title with the statement that the award was handcrafted in 24k gold to honor Avon Representatives on their Second Avon Anniversary. A gold oval backstamp reads Created Exclusively for Avon in Spain, so this year was Spanish-made rather than the Japanese production used elsewhere in the series, a detail worth knowing if you are matching a set. The ruler shows it measuring about 8 inches across. Included are the rose-print gift box with fitted foam insert, a Happy Anniversary card printed with the signature of William R. Cheney, President of Avon Products, Inc., and a card illustrating the full Anniversary Collection. Condition is excellent and unused, no chips or cracks visible, light storage wear to the box.
