White Enamelware Lidded Pail with Red Trim

White enamelware pail with a fitted domed lid, red trim at the rims and a red painted lid handle, plus a wire bail handle with a rolled grip on the body. The form - a deep bail-handled pot with its own matching cover - is the one usually sold as a chamber pot or slop pail, standard equipment in farm and rural households before indoor plumbing was common, and it is now bought mostly as farmhouse decor or a planter. The body stands about 9 and one half inches to the rim and the lid measures about 9 inches across. Condition is fair and fully shown in the photos: the enamel is chipped through to the dark base metal around the bottom and lower body with rust blooming at the chips, the interior bottom carries heavy brown staining and residue, and the enamel around the lid handle rivets and the small vent hole is crazed and rusted.
