Autographed 1989 TV Sports Mailbag #21 / #22 Johnny Bench MLB Hall Of Fame Induction 8X10 Stat Sheets (Limited Edition Of 1000) (2 Signatures Total). A limited edition pairing honoring arguably the greatest catcher in Major League Baseball history and featuring two Johnny Bench signatures in total, with each commemorative issue limited to just 1,000 examples. The two pieces provide complementary tributes to the Cincinnati Reds legend, combining classic imagery with detailed career statistics and Hall of Fame themed presentation from the very year Bench was enshrined in Cooperstown. Bench spent his entire 17 season Major League career with the Cincinnati Reds from 1967 through 1983, serving as the defensive anchor and one of the premier offensive forces of the legendary "Big Red Machine." A revolutionary talent behind the plate, Bench finished his career with 2,048 hits, 389 home runs and 1,376 RBI, earned 14 All Star selections, captured 10 consecutive Gold Glove Awards, and was named the National League MVP in both 1970 and 1972. His tremendous combination of power, arm strength, defensive ability and leadership helped Cincinnati dominate the National League during the 1970s, culminating in consecutive World Series championships in 1975 and 1976, with Bench capturing 1976 World Series MVP honors after batting .533 with two home runs in Cincinnati's sweep of the New York Yankees. He also earned the 1968 National League Rookie of the Year Award and retired as the career leader in home runs by a catcher. Bench was elected to the National Baseball Hall of Fame in his first year of eligibility in 1989, receiving an overwhelming 96.4 percent of the vote, making these 1989 TV Sports Mailbag issues particularly meaningful commemoratives of the year he received baseball's highest honor. Combining two different limited edition Johnny Bench Hall of Fame stat sheets, two signatures, production limited to only 1,000 examples of each issue and the legacy of a first ballot Hall of Famer, two time MVP, ten time Gold Glove winner and cornerstone of the Big Red Machine, this exceptional pairing represents a tremendous addition to any Johnny Bench, Cincinnati Reds, Hall of Fame or advanced baseball autograph collection.
