Ford was a 10 time All Star, captured the 1961 Cy Young Award after winning 25 games, and helped lead New York to six World Series championships during one of the most dominant periods in franchise history. His postseason accomplishments were equally extraordinary, as Ford established World Series records for 10 victories and 94 strikeouts and authored an incredible 33 consecutive scoreless innings in World Series competition, surpassing a mark previously held by Babe Ruth. He was named World Series MVP in 1961 and formed an unforgettable part of a Yankees era featuring fellow legends Mickey Mantle, Yogi Berra and Roger Maris. Ford was elected to the National Baseball Hall of Fame in 1974, entering Cooperstown alongside longtime teammate Mickey Mantle, and his iconic No. 16 was retired by the Yankees that same year. Ford passed away in 2020 at the age of 91, permanently limiting the supply of authentic material signed during his lifetime.
