Autographed 1989 TV Sports Mailbag #13 Warren Spahn MLB Hall Of Fame Induction 8X10 Stat Sheet (Limited Edition Of 1000). A limited edition commemorative piece honoring one of the greatest left-handed pitchers in Major League Baseball history and limited to just 1,000 examples. The display celebrates Spahn's induction into the National Baseball Hall of Fame with classic imagery and a presentation of the remarkable career statistics that made him the defining lefthander of his generation, while Spahn has personally signed the piece to create an especially appealing Hall of Fame collectible. Spahn spent the overwhelming majority of his brilliant 21 season Major League career with the Boston and Milwaukee Braves, compiling 363 victories, the most ever by a lefthanded pitcher, along with 2,583 strikeouts, 382 complete games and 63 shutouts. Remarkably, virtually his entire Major League career came after his service in World War II, during which Spahn served in the United States Army, fought in the Battle of the Bulge and earned both a Purple Heart and Bronze Star. Returning to baseball after the war, he became one of the game's most durable and consistently dominant pitchers, earning 17 All Star selections, leading the National League in victories eight times and capturing the 1957 Cy Young Award while helping Milwaukee win the World Series championship that same season. Spahn also threw two no hitters, the second coming in 1961 at the remarkable age of 40, and continued pitching effectively well into his forties. He was elected to the National Baseball Hall of Fame in 1973, and Major League Baseball's annual award recognizing the game's best lefthanded pitcher was later named the Warren Spahn Award in his honor. Spahn passed away in 2003, permanently limiting the supply of authentic material signed during his lifetime.
