Kell batted .300 or better in nine seasons and led the American League in hits twice and doubles twice, establishing himself as one of the era's premier offensive third basemen. He was elected to the National Baseball Hall of Fame in 1983 and later became equally beloved to generations of Tigers fans through his lengthy career as a Detroit television broadcaster. Kell passed away in 2009, permanently limiting the supply of authentic material signed during his lifetime.
