This group includes a No. 301 Reading Lines steam locomotive with tender and three maroon passenger cars. The set features a No. 652 Pikes Peak Pullman and two No. 655 coaches, all in 3/16 scale. Die-cast and plastic construction is used throughout. Three original Gilbert American Flyer cardboard boxes accompany the pieces, displaying copyright 1940 and Hall of Science branding. Locomotive shows surface dust and paint loss on edges (photo 6). The wired tether between locomotive and tender is frayed with exposed wires (photo 7).
