A pre-war Lionel No. 253 O-gauge electric locomotive featuring a dark green tinplate body and black-painted chassis. Raised brass-toned side plates are marked LIONEL and 253, while an underside plate identifies the manufacturer as The Lionel Corporation. This electric locomotive includes a roof-mounted pantograph and brass-toned trim. Though marked by the consignor as running, this item is offered untested.This locomotive shows play-wear consistent with its age, including paint loss at the roof edges and corners (photos 1 & 2). The red bulb shows flaking (photo 4) and trim displays a natural patina. This item has not been tested.
