2014-D Baseball HOF Curved CLAD Half Dollar Unc

The first curved coin the United States Mint ever produced. The 2014 National Baseball Hall of Fame half dollar was struck on a domed planchet, concave on the obverse like a glove pocket and convex on the reverse like a baseball. The glove design came from a public competition won by artist Cassie McFarland. This is the uncirculated issue, dated 2014 with a D mint mark on the reverse at lower left, capsuled on the ribbon in the black Mint case with outer box and certificate. This coin is CLAD, not silver. The outer box side panel says so in its own words, Baseball Hall of Fame - Clad Unc., and the surface is the flat copper nickel white of a clad coin, so there is no silver and no melt figure. Commemorative does not mean silver. The coin has a satin finish with no wear, no rim damage and no fingerprints. The reverse photograph shows a soft gray green blotch that is either light haze or a lighting reflection; check it in hand. Estimated Value: $15 to $25. Sold as-is.
