A ringed bi-metallic ten dollar casino gaming token from the Red Garter Hotel and Casino, in a clear plastic snap capsule. The obverse center reads RED GARTER with a seated showgirl across the top, then HOTEL AND CASINO and WENDOVER, NEVADA. This is Wendover, a small casino town on the Utah border, not Las Vegas. The brass ring reads LIMITED EDITION TEN DOLLAR GAMING TOKEN over .999 PURE SILVER. The reverse shows a steam locomotive on a stone arch viaduct. No date appears on either face. Only the center disc is silver. The outer ring is gold-colored brass with no silver value, so this is not a full ounce token. The .999 fine center holds about 0.60 troy ounces, roughly $39.60 at recent prices near $66 per ounce, so check spot. The token is unworn, but the obverse insert has gone cloudy and milky-grey with hazy patches and small dark specks, heaviest left of the lettering. That reads as ordinary silver haze, not corrosion. The reverse insert is brighter with good frost on the locomotive. Estimated Value: $40 to $55. Sold as-is. Photos are the most accurate description of this lot.
