Opened $10 Bicentennial Quarter Roll Soiled Wrap

One paper roll in an orange and kraft Coin-Tainer quarter wrapper printed $10 QUARTERS, which is 40 quarters when full. The roll is not factory crimped. Both ends were worked open by hand, the paper is torn and fibrous, and the wrapper is soiled and stained. Only the two end coins are verifiable. One end shows a Washington obverse dated 1776-1976 with a D mint mark right of the ribbon; the other shows the Bicentennial drummer reverse, a grey clad quarter with light wear and full detail. The obverse end coin looks dark brown and tan, though that cast may partly be light through the paper. The other 38 coins were never photographed, so their dates and even their presence cannot be confirmed. Pencil on the wrapper reads Bi cent and what may be 76, not fully legible. Circulating Bicentennial quarters are clad and hold no silver. Only the San Francisco collector coins were 40 percent silver, and those came in Mint packaging, not bank rolls.
