Lot of Lincoln Wheat and Memorial Cents

A large loose pile of Lincoln cents, mixed between wheat cents of 1909-1958 and Memorial cents of 1959 and later, with at least one and likely several 1943 steel cents. Copper and steel carry no melt value, so this is a bulk cent lot. Dates read include 1941, a 1942-S, 1951, 1955-D and 1958-D; most of the pile is too worn, corroded or overlapped to read. Condition is rough. Many are dark brown to black with no original color, and a number show deep pitting and granular ground-found surfaces. Bright green verdigris appears on multiple coins, one a heavy encrustation, and several carry whitish crusty deposits. The 1942-S has an iridescent pink and purple film, not normal copper toning. One 1941 cent has a heavy gouge across the portrait. A minority of the Memorial cents are bright red. Roughly 130 to 170 cents are visible, heaped deep, so no count can be confirmed. In 1943 the Mint saved copper for the war and struck cents in steel. Estimated Value: $4 to $9. Sold as-is. Photos are the most accurate description of this lot.
