A 90 percent silver Barber dime dated 1900, a design by Charles Barber struck from 1892 to 1916. Liberty faces right in a laurel wreath, and the reverse carries ONE DIME inside a wreath of corn, wheat, maple and oak. The coin is well circulated and appears to grade about Good to Very Good. LIBERTY on the headband is worn away and is not legible. Toning is even medium grey to charcoal with lighter high points, rims are complete, and the reverse wreath and ONE DIME are bold. Damage to disclose: a circular impressed mark sits on Liberty's cheek and jaw in both obverse photos. It is not part of the design and reads as a pressed mark rather than toning. No mint mark is visible below the wreath bow, but that area is shadowed, so Philadelphia cannot be confirmed. The dime holds about $4.75 in silver at recent prices near $66 per ounce, and metal prices move, so check spot before you bid. Collectors grade this series by the headband, and a full LIBERTY marks the line between Good and Fine. Estimated Value: $5 to $9. Sold as-is. Photos are the most accurate description of this lot.
