(4) 1976-D Kennedy Bicentennial Half Dollars

Four Kennedy half dollars struck for the 1976 Bicentennial at the Denver Mint, all copper-nickel clad with no silver content. All four carry the dual date 1776-1976 with a clear D below the neck truncation, and the reverse shows Independence Hall and the legend 200 YEARS OF FREEDOM. The photographs show bright to lightly toned surfaces, full hair detail above the ear, and no wear on the high points, so all four appear to grade uncirculated. One coin has a milky tan haze in the fields and a tiny dark speck below the eye. A second shows light hairline scuffs in the right field and small dark specks along the jaw and neck. A third has scattered contact marks and light golden tone at the upper right rim. The reverses were photographed only as a group, so per coin reverse detail is limited. No rim damage. Worth knowing: no half dollar is dated 1975, because the Mint struck dual date pieces through both years. Only the San Francisco sets hold 40 percent silver. Estimated Value: $4 to $8. Sold as-is.
