Serial # NSN. Approx. 12 Ga. black powder percussion fired double barrel shotgun with 30” barrels. The bores are good with light rust. The lock plates are marked “Ward” and the barrel rib is marked “London Fine Twist”. Possibly made by Ward’s of London or Ward & Son, both of whom were London based gun makers in the mid 1800’s. The metal finish on the barrels is a brown patina with wear at the muzzle along with thinning, dings and scattered scratches. The metal finish on the lightly engraved lock plates, hammers and the trigger guard is a dark gray patina are a worn dark gray patina with light wear. The checkered walnut half stock is in very good condition showing light dings and scratches with some small chip around the lock plates along with finish wear. Steel butt plate. The action works fine. Includes the ramrod.
