Serial # 84109. .36 caliber black powder percussion single action revolver with a 7-1/2” octagon barrel. The bore is poor to fair with visible rifling and moderate to heavy pitting. Appears to be an original 1851 Navy made in 1857. The gun has been refinished. The blued metal finish on the barrel and loading lever assembly is a re-blue and is in very good condition showing light wear. There are patches of missing finish that look like weld repairs on the barrel along with underlying pitting on the forcing cone and loading lever assembly. The barrel markings are very thin and partially illegible. The blued metal finish on the cylinder is a re-blue and is in good condition showing heavy underlying pitting. The blued metal finish on the frame is in very good condition showing little wear with some underlying pitting. There are no markings visible. The brass trigger guard and grip frame have been polished and are in very good condition showing some light marks. The hardwood grips are in good condition showing older dings with finish wear. The barrel frame, trigger guard and grip frame are all matching, the cylinder and barrel wedge are not numbered. The action works OK, but is sluggish. New nipples have been installed.
