An Art Nouveau style cut glass decanter featuring a bulbous body and a globular stopper. The glass is decorated with a geometric diamond-cut pattern to the lower section and stopper, while the neck is finished with vertical facets. The piece is encased in a decorative, pierced metal overlay displaying a naturalistic design of trailing morning glory flowers, foliage, and a relief grasshopper figure. The metalwork exhibits a heavy dark patina throughout. Height approx. 21.6 cm (measured against a visible scale in inches). Condition: The item exhibits an accumulation of dust and surface grime in the recesses of the cut glass and metalwork. There is visible cloudiness and residue to the interior of the glass. The metal overlay shows heavy tarnish and a dark patina consistent with age. The piece remains free of visible chips, cracks, or signs of restoration.
