A Kodak Instamatic X-35 126 cartridge film camera. This model is equipped with a fixed-focus Kodak lens and an automatic exposure system featuring a CdS light meter. The body construction consists of a silver-toned plastic upper section with black textured front panels and a black plastic base. The top plate houses a socket designed for X-type Magicube flashbulbs. The front faceplate carries the inscriptions INSTAMATIC X-35, CAMERA, MADE IN CANADA, and Kodak. A red Kodak logo badge is positioned on the top surface. The reverse side includes a central film viewing window and a battery compartment. The camera is accompanied by a black hardshell carrying case with a textured exterior, red interior lining, and an attached black woven neck strap. Dimensions: Width approx. 11.4 cm (measured against a ruler). Condition: The camera shows significant signs of age and heavy use. The black textured front panels exhibit heavy white oxidation and pitting. Fine red particulate matter is present across the exterior surfaces and within the case. The lens appears to have internal dust. An expired Duracell alkaline battery remains in the rear compartment, indicating a risk of terminal corrosion. The carrying case shows general wear, and the woven strap is frayed. The shutter and electronic exposure systems are untested.
