A mechanical cigarette box of Art Deco design, featuring a wooden interior and a textured brown leatherette exterior. The interior construction includes four trays, with the top three trays connected to a brass cantilever mechanism that extends the tiers upwards and outwards when the lid is opened. Each tray is carved with fluted channels designed to hold individual cigarettes or small cigars. The exterior is finished with a stepped base, and the mechanical components are secured with brass-toned pins. Dimensions measured against a tape measure: Base Width approx. 14 cm; Open Height approx. 16.5 cm. Condition: The exterior wrap shows visible signs of age and use, including scuffing and loss of finish at the corners and edges. The wooden interior trays display minor surface wear and some accumulated dust in the channels. The brass cantilever mechanism remains functional with a natural surface patina and oxidisation. No significant structural damage or repairs are observed.
