A pair of vintage Kinux Stereo 8x25 prism binoculars. The instrument is constructed with a black-finished metal body and a textured vulcanite grip covering. The top plate of the left barrel is engraved with a shield-shaped logo containing the word KINUX above the word STEREO, with the specification 8X25 below. The binoculars are accompanied by a fitted brown leather carrying case featuring a purple velvet lining and a long leather shoulder strap. The interior rim of the case lid bears a handwritten ink inscription reading Quebec City Aug 11, 1932. Dimensions: Width approx. 11.5 cm (measured as 4.5 inches on a visible scale). Condition: The binoculars exhibit significant signs of use, including extensive paint loss and brassing to the metal edges, eyepieces, and fittings. The textured body covering shows general surface wear but remains largely intact. The lenses show internal dust and surface marks; optical clarity has not been professionally tested. The mechanical central focus wheel and diopter adjustment appear functional. The leather case shows scuffing, surface scratches, and general age-related wear to the straps and closure.
